I wanna be a cowboy

6-28-07

Much better day. We started off in Albuquerque where we had breakfast (great place, ask me about it if you’re ever in Albuquerque) and waited around for the four new back tires. Not a cheap day, but hey, it’s only money, and I’m a teacher you know. Anyway, we were back on the road before noon.

We drove to a KOA in Amarillo, Texas, and what a pleasant surprise. The people were really friendly and had our names on a little welcome sign when we got there. We were expecting hot weather in Texas, but it was beautiful – nice breeze and it even got a little chilly in the evening. There is a nice pool and an evening hayride. We ordered Texas barbeque that was delivered right to our RV.

We’re back on track.

Boy, you are going to be an RV pro by the time you get back home! I see a book idea out there somewhere!
Glad to know your first day in Texas was good. Hope you miss the rain that is pelting the rest of the state!

My dearest Pete and Becky and family. Your trip is sounding like something I can relate to.....a certain trip to Norway where all four of my children threw up the entire length of the trip. Yep...one in the car on the way to the airport....three on the flight. We got to buy dorky aiport clothes in Amsterdam so we didn't stink up our connecting flight. Only one kept throwing up on that too. So, now I am getting a good laugh at your memorable trip with Katie and the carseat and the tires. Definitely a trip to remember. If you can get through this trip you can get through anything!!
